Ancient Lights by Shelagh Stephenson Hollywood actor Tom Cavallero and his girlfriend Iona are spending Christmas in the English countryside with his oldest friends, Bea and Kitty. Bea's new lover, Tad, would rather hole up quietly with his book Pathology for Beginners. Her daughter, Joni, would rather be with her own friends in London and how can anyone relax with Iona recording their every move on camera? Iona is making a documentary about ‘the real Tom’…..but who is that? Tom, Bea and Kitty go back a long way and as the booze starts to flow and tongues become looser, fond and amusing reminiscences reveal neuroses, fears and disappointments about what their lives could have been and what may still be round the next corner………..or outside in the dark !
